James and Vera had a good and uneventful last week. They are in the “boring” stage, for the most part, where they are really just growing. Today was an exception to this, as we had a couple of new milestones!
Update on James- James has been doing well. His kidney issues settled down. He still has low hemoglobin but he is not showing signs of that clinically so he still doesn’t need intervention. As of today James is off of CPAP (!!!) and on a high flow nasal cannula for oxygen. He also had his first eye exam today and we will have results from that by Wednesday. James also had another head ultrasound today, which showed that his right ventricles improved but his left ventricle are still just as dilated as before. The doctors feel that this will hopefully settle itself without intervention. James is now 3 pounds 10 ounces and 16 inches long.
Update on Vera- Vera has continued to do well. She switched to a high flow nasal cannula yesterday. She may only be on it for a short time as she is on the lowest settings possible. She also had her first eye exam today. Vera is 3 pounds 4 ounces and 15.5 inches long.
