It has been a while since I wrote a post! We have been enjoying our time in the ICC (Infant Care Center) and have been working on getting ready to have our babies home. James and Vera will be 3 months old tomorrow! They are 38weeks and 4 days gestation.
Update on James: James has been doing pretty well. His brain bleeds are finally evolving, getting better. He still has Retina of Prematurity in his eyes, he will have another eye exam tomorrow. He is still being treated for a blood clot in his lungs, which is slowly improving. He has been having problems with nasal congestion for the last month so the ENTs are working with us to improve that. James is working on bottle feeding and is currently drinking about half of each feeding and getting the other half from his feeding tube. Once he is consistently drinking about 80% of his feedings he will be able to come home. That will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks. James is 7 pounds 13 ounces!
Update on Vera: Vera has continued to do well in the hospital. Her eyes have improved and she no longer has Retina of Prematurity. She will have another eye exam tomorrow that will hopefully show her eyes have matured even more. Vera has been doing pretty well with bottle feedings. She took several full bottles last week and we thought we would have her home by this past weekend, but she got tired and regressed a bit. We are hoping to go back to cue based feeding with her tomorrow and have her home by this next weekend! Vera is 7 pounds 3 ounces.
